Water Safety Instructor Course

An American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) classes are held at the Lorain County Metroparks Aquatic Facility, Splash Zone, in Oberlin. Participants must be 17 years of age, and be able to swim a variety of strokes. Call Splash Zone at (440) 774-5059 for schedule of upcoming classes.

Lifeguard Training

Interested in becoming a certified lifeguard? American Red Cross classes are held at area pools. Listed below is the telephone number where courses are held. Learn to Swim Lessons

Children are never too young to start learning about water safety. The American Red Cross "Learn to Swim" program is seven levels of instruction that are designed to help swimmers of all ages develop and refine their skills. The "Infant & Preschool" program is designed for children 6 months through 5 years of age to develop swimming readiness by teaching children how to have fun in the water.
